Interview

Archie Ward
Cheif Executive Officer
What is the biggest trend in digital technology which will affect the travel & hospitality industry in the following years?
Google Hotel Ads becoming more prominent. Potentially taking market share away from the websites where people have been booking their hotel stays for the last decade, whilst putting more bargaining power back into the hands of the hotel operators themselves.
What is the most important challenge travel & hospitality professional will face in the digital era?
Bad stays or poor service can be broadcast quickly, improper attempts to deal with a situation can cause the problem to become viral. Remember that customers are able to provide instant feedback, it could be free publicity in your favour or something which permanently damages your brand.
What solutions are you planning to present to the Digi.travel delegates and what issues these solutions solve?
You should already have a lot of information about your potential customers. You must leverage this current information across all digital touch points, so that you are telling a consistent story, from the first time someone comes into contact with your brand, until the time they book. As you broaden your touch points, continue to refine the story and recalibrate who is your true market. Continue to give them the best information, so that they can make the best decision about whether the service is right for them.
